Fells Meadows offers numerous trails, meditation areas and quaint buildings throughout the property enabling opportunities to immerse in nature and rejuvenate the mind, body and soul. We warmly welcome groups, families, couples and individuals for a memorable overnight getaway in the country. Our retreats and workshops which were closed because of the pandemic and restrictions are now being put in place again. Come to connect with nature!

The Fells Meadows name is derived from the moor covered hills on the Isle of Man, Scotland and northern England (the fells) and peaceful meadows.

This is a sanctuary where nature thrives and wildlife abounds. It includes:

A tastefully decorated 1860’s renovated six bedroom farm house
A 30 foot diameter yurt with pine flooring and propane stove
Charming cabins with sleeping lofts
A Chartres Meditation Labyrinth overlooking the valley
Trails throughout the hills, meadows, forests and wetlands

We continue to create a holistic vision focused on regeneration and well being by planting organic gardens, orchards and native vegetation which support soul-stirring retreats and fortify wildlife such as the butterflies, bees and bluebirds. You are welcome to come and experience the magic of Fells Meadows.

The Space

In the heart of Northumberland Hills, this property is a sacred space focused on regeneration and well being. Accommodations are available to rent for short or extended periods of time for individuals, families, colleagues or small groups seeking time in a private country setting. This is a tranquil space enabling one to choose rest, play, the creative arts to stimulate imagination or a mix of all. Because of covid 19 we have have adjusted our rates so there is flexibility for individuals, couples, families and small groups to book overnight stays at the farm house. Other accommodations includes quaint cabins which have pull out sofas on the main floor and quality mattresses in the lofts. The yurt has a double futon but typically this space is used for meditation, yoga and circles (see Accommodations page for further information). Larger groups or families are welcome to book the cabins in addition to the farm house. For individuals wishing to book a cabin or a room at the farm house please email info@fellsmeadows.com for availability and details.

The private, cozy, 1860 renovated 6 bedroom farm house includes a full amenity kitchen with a spectacular masonry. We have the option for individuals or couples to order from a menu or to provide their own meals. Although the majority of groups do their own meals we have access to an amazing chef and can coordinate the meals (supplemental fee for meals). The dining and living area has a wood stove and fully operational ﬁre place. There are six bedrooms; one with a queen bed, two with double beds, one with a single and double bed, and two bedrooms with two single beds. There are two full amenities bathrooms. The outdoor patio has a table, chairs and BBQ. There is ample room to park vehicles. One can store bicycles in the workshop barn.

About 1/2 km from the farm house is the 30 foot diameter yurt perfect for circles, yoga, tai chi and the arts. The cabins, Haven on the Hill-Top, is on the ﬁrst hill overlooking many miles of nature and Haven in the Meadow is in the valley closer to the yurt. There are lofts in the cabins which have double sized mattresses. Near Haven on the Hill-Top, overlooking the valley, is a stone labyrinth based on the one in Chartres, France. There are trails throughout the over 100 acres of meadow, forest and protected waterways perfect for walking all seasons and during our winter wonderland, for snow shoeing or cross country skiing.

About your host, Leslie Fell.

For years I wanted to create a sanctuary space which protected the land and enabled people to have a place to rejuvenate in nature, in solitude or with friends and family. I was drawn to the property for its numerous ecosystems, rolling hills, diverse wildlife and whispering trees.

What an incredible experience for a girl’s trip in the fall. First time here with five
ladies and we had a bedroom to spare! We had everything we needed from
bedding and towels provided, a fully equipped kitchen, a library, picnic tables a
garden and a secluded firepit in the valley. The walk through the forest up to the
yurt was magical. Leslie is wonderful to work with and was so responsive to our

I had a wonderful solo stay in Leslie’s farmhouse at Fells– it was glorious! The eclectically furnished farmhouse (animal sanctuary meets new age meets Buddhism- was so inviting and comfortable, with an unlimited supply of hot tea, firewood, and meadow views. Most of all, Fells Meadows provided a welcoming space to think, rest, write, read, and take care of myself for a few days. I feel rejuvenated and look forward to coming back again!

Fells Meadows is a haven for those searching for solitude, connection to nature, and the warmth of hospitality that is so special to Leslie. I knew I wanted to stay here and have some days disconnecting from the pandemic, work, and parenting and reconnecting to myself. Leslie was so kind and prompt in her communications from my first inquiry and throughout my stay. She showed me around, offered kale from the garden, even offered me her own boots when it snowed! Leslie’s deep connection to the place shows in all the details inside the cabins, the quaint farmhouse, and the walking trails. I dream of going back again and again and will always hold fond memories of the warmth I felt on those crisp Canadian Autumnal days.

Wonderful refresh in the country! We booked Fells Meadows so that our family could spend some precious time together. The house is spacious, surprisingly cool in the summer, and has plenty of places to cozy up and read, nap, or just enjoy the peace of being out in nature. We enjoyed the trails on the property. The yurt was a fun place for us to explore and play some games in. Kitchen was well stocked with all the basic equipment and some spices. Everything was clean and well-maintained. Most of all, we appreciated Leslie's hospitality and helpfulness during our stay. We had a wonderful time here and hope to be back again.
