Fells Meadows is nestled in the heart of the rolling hills of Northumberland County. There are groomed trails throughout the property's 100 acres of diverse ecosystems. Northumberland Hills is a renowned bicycle location and a gorgeous place for country drives. We are close to villages and not far from cities for day and/or night outings. There are plenty of activities such as theatre, festivals, cafés & restaurants in nearby villages and cities. During your stay you may wish to visit nearby sites or go on shopping ventures to quaint villages. Only 10 minutes from Colborne, 15 minutes east from the arts village of Warkworth and only 20 minutes from Cobourg (west) or Brighton (east).
There are extensive trails along the waterfront and on the oak ridges moraine which are just minutes away. Some of Ontario’s most beautiful beaches are within a 20 minute drive. Day excursions by auto or bicycle might include Pres’quile Provincial Park at Brighton, ON and the Sandbanks Provincial Park in neighbouring Prince Edward County.
Spa experiences can be found in Cobourg and Brighton. For those who’d like to venture out for dining experiences there are numerous nearby reputable restaurants. We list these restaurants and provide a number of maps in the information binder you’ll receive upon arrival. There are numerous trail systems to cross country ski on the property or in the area. Batata Ski Hill is within 30 minutes for downhill skiing.
The place is easy to find and there's lots of room for parking. Northumberland is renowned for their extensive trail system so if you have bicycles you may store them in garage/barn. If coming by train to Cobourg there are taxi services which you can book ahead. We offer a round trip ride for a fee.
For those wishing to spend time in nearby cities there is Toronto (75 mins), Kingston (90 mins) and Peterborough (50 mins). The via train in Cobourg has express routes west to Toronto or east to Kingston, Ottawa and Montreal.
