We offer our gratitude to all First Peoples for their care for, and teachings about, our earth and our relations. We are committed to continuing to honour, respect and care for the land and all beings

The Fells Meadows name is derived from the moor covered hills on the Isle of Man, Scotland and northern England (the fells) and peaceful meadows.

This is a sanctuary where nature thrives and wildlife abounds. It includes:

  • A tastefully decorated 1860’s renovated six bedroom farm house
  • A 30 foot diameter yurt with pine flooring and propane stove
  • Charming cabins with sleeping lofts
  • A Chartres Meditation Labyrinth overlooking the valley
  • Trails throughout the hills, meadows, forests and wetlands

We continue to create a holistic vision focused on regeneration and well being by planting organic gardens, orchards and native vegetation which support soul-stirring retreats and fortify wildlife such as the butterflies, bees and bluebirds. As of 2023 we are also collaborating with and  supporting Living Ways Foundation, a registered non-profit and Canadian charity, to provide education about growing of food and host Cherishing Our Planet and Wisdom of Elders   events.

Leslie Fell cropped-square

About your host, Leslie Fell.

For years I wanted to create a sanctuary space which protected the land and enabled people to have a place to rejuvenate in nature, in solitude or with friends and family. I was drawn to the property for its numerous ecosystems, rolling hills, diverse wildlife and whispering trees.

More information on Leslie Fell.

Many years ago Leslie spoke to me about a vision of a place where people who traveled there would have an experience of deep spiritual contact with nature. The realization of this vision is Fells Meadows.

It is born of the indomitable warrior spirit that resides in Leslie and that made the seemingly impossible possible. When you come you will sense immediately your sanctuary place. Come.

Testimonials

Have stayed at Fells three times now, and will continue to go back! Have been for a personal retreat, staying in the Haven on the Hilltop for about a week, then again with my girlfriend, and again with a group of friends staying in the farmhouse. Leslie is a wonderful host (and person!). The property is beautiful, with great views, privacy, and walking trails. Can't say enough!

Women's Retreat Group - Fells Meadows provided the perfect nest for our three-day retreat this summer. Six women reveled in the landscape, enjoying meals outdoors in the garden, and slept deeply each night. Meditating, howling and dancing in the yurt, we relaxed and conversed in the living room in the evenings. Afterwards, we agreed this was the perfect setting to support our inner work and creative play. At Fells Meadows, we were as freely expressive and held by nature as we wanted and needed to be. Thank you, Les, for creating such a remarkable retreat space.

Haven on the Hill-top Individual Retreat
A recent weekend away at Fells Meadows Retreat was gifted to me and I was completely delighted with the entire experience. The owner was absolutely charming and went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable and relaxing. The heated cabin (Hilltop Haven) was beautiful & cosy, the loft bed and comforters were fabulous, and to top it off it has the most *spectacular* view of the highlands. The shared kitchen (The Hub, a new addition to the site) was completely well equipped and a pleasure to use, and there’s a big BBQ just outside too. The hiking trails are neatly manicured gems in the forest, and the musical sound of the coyotes in the far-away nighttime was a treat for the ears. I HIGHLY recommend Fells Meadows Retreat and I will stay there again in a heartbeat.

For Rainbow Haven: Safari Wall Tent - Originally, my partner and I were looking for somewhere to stay near Prince Edward County, when we stumbled upon Rainbow Haven at Fells Meadows. I am so glad we did, because the experience and accommodation would be well worth the trip to Fells Meadows as the only destination. The property is beautiful and perfectly well maintained. The accommodations were clean and well organized. We could tell that so much love and care go into every single detail. Leslie is so kind, welcoming, and helpful. She was always available and communicated with us throughout our stay. Thanks so much Leslie, we'll be back!  Rebecca R September 2023

My husband and I stayed at the beautiful farm house with 3 of our adult daughters for 2 nights. After our daughters departed we had an amazing couple stay at one of the cabins, Haven on the Hilltop.

Leslie has the gift of hospitality and could not have been more generous during our stay. The entire property is exquisite from the organic garden just outside the farm house door to the trails and hill walk to and from Haven on the Hill. This was our first visit to Northumberland County and the natural beauty of this area was a wonderful surprise! Every aspect of Fells Meadows is impeccably maintained and comfortable.

As many of us struggle to find peace and respite in our lives Fells Meadows is truly a jewel of a place to rest, rejuvenate and depart feeling refreshed. Leslie has created a very special place! Karen A. August 2023

I loved every minute of staying here. The quiet serene peace, the forest, the walks, my cabin. The whole experience always has me coming back, and this is my 3rd time coming back in 3 years. I come back because I leave rejuvinated and grounded. If you are sensitive, and need a safe place to retreat in nature, this is the place. Hania July 2023

Fells Meadows has beautiful accommodations and provides a great escape for anyone wishing to decompress, focus and enjoy themselves. I stayed for six nights in Haven in the Meadow, and spent my days working on several writing projects and enjoying the many trails and beautiful outdoor surroundings. Leslie gave me total privacy but was very responsive and extremely accommodating - I can tell she puts a lot of care and effort into this business. I'd definitely recommend Fells Meadows to anyone who needs time to work on a special project or focus on their well-being. Sarah G July 2023

Individual Retreat in Haven in the Meadow: I spent the last three nights and days at Fells Meadows and loved every minute. The space is serene, cozy, and welcoming. Lesley, the owner, was attentive to every detail. I will definitely go back! Monika D July 2023

Such a fantastic retreat place! Beautiful accommodations, trails, nature, a wonderful spot to write and reflect and connect to source. I spent a six day solo writing retreat in the farmhouse and was so happy! The place is spotless, warm and cozy. I can't wait to return in the warmer weather and try a bunkie! Sarah R Feb 2023

Fabulous, friendly atmosphere and energy! Leslie has done such a great job. The house is clean, well-appointed and cozy. Grounds are beautiful. I spent a week at the farmhouse working on my novel. I had complete privacy but Leslie was available via text and responded promptly if/when I needed anything.Highly recommend Fells Meadows for individuals, groups, retreats…it’s pretty close to perfect!  Sandy L Jan 2023

I cannot speak highly enough about my stay at Fells Meadows. From the friendly and inviting staff, to the cozy and comfortable accommodations, to the stunning property and amenities - everything well exceeded my expectations. Intimate Wedding Wkd

My husband Kevin and I stayed at Fells Meadows for a few days at the end of August, 2022. We had recently been legally married, and wanted a place where we could gather a small group of friends and family (16 total) to celebrate and hold our ceremony; while cooking together, walking the trails and taking in the stars. The weekend was above and beyond what we could have imagined! Leslie and her community have taken immaculate and heartfelt care of this property, and land. We felt immediately welcomed there, the house was filled with fresh flowers from the lush and vibrant garden, and a ‘welcome’ produce box with vegetables and a watermelon (!) left on the table. We had brought all our own groceries to prepare, but this was such a beautiful surprise.

We had set the intention that we wanted our guests to feel taken care of, that they could relax and unwind, and consider the time at Fells a bit of a retreat. The farmhouse was a beautiful place to house our parents and family with small children (they couldn’t stop talking about it!) as it has 2 bathrooms and all the amenities you could imagine, even a dishwasher and washer/dryer. In addition, our friends (and Kevin and I) stayed in the small tiny-home cabins around the property. We loved the adventure of it, and the new wall-tent cabin was a huge hit (fondly nicknamed the ‘Eagles Nest’ by the end of the weekend). A friend brought headlamp-powered toques for everyone, so we easily made our way back and forth from the farmhouse to the fire-pit, cabins and trails in the dark. And under the miraculous amount of stars (my nephews had never seen the milky way, and were astonished). We were careful to respect Leslie’s ethos as we shared it as well - to be mindful of the plants and animals we saw there, and treat them with respect. We held our wedding ceremony next to the yurt, tucked into some trees, and it was perfect. We made use of some folding chairs in the yurt and replaced them afterwards, and a couple friends found an antique table on the side of the highway that we used for our outdoor champagne toast (which we left on the property, and will find it’s way into one of the cabins I’m sure!)

Over the course of the weekend we were visited by many interesting insects (a hummingbird moth, and a praying mantis) and felt recharged by the trees, the wind and the atmosphere on this sprawling property. It truly is a sanctuary. Kevin and I are so grateful for the memories we created, and can’t recommend Fells enough. We left feeling buoyed and nourished - what a gift. Thank you Leslie! I have brought 4 groups to Fells Meadows in the last few years.  The five-day retreats that we teach require a special space where we are well supported as our work often leads us through a variety of intense healing group processes. For these workshops to go well we need a combination of elements that marry gracefully: delicious healthy food, comfortable accommodations, some privacy, and a setting that allows a connection to nature. We also need hosts that have attention to details and who understand the balance necessary in holding a safe space for all of us. Fells Meadows and its owner, Leslie, combine all of these elements beautifully and effortlessly. We always feel well cared for, we receive a warm welcome at every meal and, as a facilitator, I never have to worry about anything. These perfect conditions allow me to focus my full attention on my participants and the demands of the training. Fells Meadows is truly a special, magical place. We will be back!!  Daniel L Aug 2022

This was an incredible experience from beginning to end and I can’t recommend it enough. Our host, Leslie, was an absolute dream to deal with. She was quick to answer any and all questions and provided lots of information that helped us to plan our stay. She was easy to communicate with and very responsive when we needed to reach out while on the property. The farmhouse is extremely well maintained and super comfortable. It was so well-equipped it took us by surprise. The amount of cookware and serving dishes was incredible, especially for a large group like ours. Everything you could possibly need is there. At one point someone said “I wonder if there’s a garlic press?” And sure enough, we opened a drawer and found one! The rest of the house was much of the same, soaps, shampoos, towels, blankets, an enormous library of books... literally everything that made it feel like home. Apart from the cozy farmhouse, the grounds were the most impressive. The vegetable and herb garden was a beautiful view as we stepped out the door each day, and the kids enjoyed picking fresh herbs for our meals. We loved exploring the well-manicured, weaving paths that took us from the house to the fields (where our dog loved leaping through the tall grasses), through the woods, up to the meditation labyrinth (amazing view), and to the yurt. Every acre felt like a new spiritual experience, and every installation was charged with thought, care and reverence. We even felt so safely held in the yurt that we held a few impromptu yoga and stretching sessions. It was a perfect place to not only reconnect with our family members, but also to reconnect with ourselves. It’s clearly a very sacred piece of land and you can feel the magic. We all had an amazing, healing and energizing vacation. We have all agreed that we will be back as a family, and I will very likely book it to host a retreat in the near future. Lianne P July 2022

We stayed here as a charity board for a few days to have some collaborative work time and team bonding. It was perfect. Leslie is an amazing host. The kitchen is well stocked with all the dishes, pans, utensils you could ever need. The living room has enough comfy chairs for a large group and the dining table will fit everyone. The property is beautiful. Ruth M April 2022

I have had the pleasure of spending time at Fells Meadow on a number of occasions with an amazing group of women. It truly feels like home. The accommodations are wonderful, the love Leslie puts into every detail is felt everywhere. It’s like the land takes anything that doesn’t serve Us and transforms it into peace. Our group has also experienced Dream Council Sessions with Leslie. They are profound and infused with messages and love. I look forward to our retreats and connecting to Leslie and the land. Sue Feb 2022

Beautiful retreat for family over the holidays.

Owner was very friendly and helpful, property was perfect for a getaway during covid, separate rooms for 4 grandchildren and children and their spouses. Kitchen was very well stocked for all our baking and cooking over the holidays and the property has great trails for dogs and kids. Great for ages 8 - 70!! Valli F. Jan 2022

Fells Meadows is a very special place. Our family spent a weekend there. It was a home away from home. Leslie is a wonderful host. If you are considering this space, book it. You will not be disappointed. Nicole S Oct 2021

What an incredible experience for a girl’s trip in the fall. First time here with five ladies and we had a bedroom to spare! We had everything we needed from bedding and towels provided, a fully equipped kitchen, a library, picnic tables a garden and a secluded firepit in the valley. The walk through the forest up to the yurt was magical. Leslie is wonderful to work with and was so responsive to our questions. I would highly recommend staying, its good for your soul! Cathy Oct 2021

The experience was amazing in large part to the beautiful property that Leslie and her team maintain.  The attention to detail is present in every room, cabin, yurt and forest — everything is immaculately clean, comfortable and inviting.   Throughout our stay, Leslie was available to help in any way, and ordering vegetables from the organic produce garden was a great way to boost our supplies. Truly a hidden gem amongst retreat options —highly recommended! Yugi Sept 2021

Leslie was an incredible host. We used her beautiful home to get ready for my wedding and a little spa night the night before. It was perfect!
Morganne C. Aug 2021

The few days we spent at Fells Meadows exceeded any expectations that we had prior to going. Leslie has created an incredibly stunning, beautiful, and peaceful place. The house is extremely comfortable and very well kept. And the overall property itself is stunning. Beyond that, the location is ideally situated for easy access to a very wide range of activities for all ages and temperaments. You are sure to have a wonderful time at Fells Meadows! Paul G. Aug 2021

Leslie’s place is fantastic, clean and relaxing. Kitchen is very well equipped. Our stay was very enjoyable. Highly recommended. Grace W. July 2021

Wow, we have made this a regular getaway location for our family. Leslie and her team have created heaven on earth on this beautiful land and home. Whether looking for peace and tranquility or fun and adventure this is the place for you to be alone or with your family and friends. Meticulously clean, beautiful gardens, a short drive from Toronto with fresh produce available right outside the door. Feel yourself relaxing as you park in the driveway. Joan S. July 2021

The property is great and very well kept. Leslie is a great host. The trails are beautiful, the yurt and the cabin are great additions to the property. My family had a great fun Canada day holiday. Sandeep G. June 2021

Leslie's property is absolutely lovely!!! The house is beautiful with everything you could possibly need for a glorious weekend. We feel like going each season just to enjoy all that nature has to offer at every time of year. Melanie M. Dec 2020

Individual Retreat: “The only thing I regret about my stay at Fells Meadows is not being able to stay longer! This is a blessed magical sanctuary conducive to an artistic or personal retreat, replete with winding trails of transforming landscapes from sunset views to frozen wetlands. Every part of my time at Fells Meadows was a gift to my spirit and my writing. The farmhouse is extremely comfortable and private. I wrote by the picture perfect wood stove during the days and enjoyed long walks to renew my energy on the nature trails leading into the woods. I found new sources of emotional stamina on the labyrinth meditation and amidst the snow-lined trees on the property. The kitchen and sleeping set-up was ideal and I had everything I wished for to spend a few days focusing on my project. Fells Meadows is also a secret paradise for a solo or ensemble dance retreat, with a hard-wood floor dance studio in a yurt in the woods! Leslie is a lovely, grounded and inspiring presence with superb hosting skills. I cannot wait to return!”

I had a wonderful solo stay in Leslie’s farmhouse at Fells Meadows during the first week of December, during Covid, and during one of the first snow days - it was glorious! The eclectically furnished farmhouse (animal sanctuary meets new age meets Buddhism) was so inviting and comfy, with an unlimited supply of hot tea, firewood and meadow views. The yummy pre-ordered and prepped vegetarian/vegan food was delicious, which gave me energy to explore the many meandering trails and labyrinth outside. Most of all, Fells Meadows provided a welcoming space to think, rest, write, read, and take care of myself for a few days. I feel rejuvenated and look forward to coming back again! Jessica T. Dec 2020

When I first arrived, I could smell the oxygen in the air. The sun warmed my face. ....I lay down at the foot of an ancient hickory tree for a long time, listening to the hovering chickadees and the whooshing sound of the wind moving through the pine trees.... At night, I sat by a blazing fire and then later stood outside in the cold crisp air watching fiery Mars and the bright light of Venus rising in the dark sky. It was so good to be reminded of the beauty, magic and wonder of the natural world which was experienced in all its perfection at Fells Meadows !! Kate B. Dec 2020

Fells Meadows is a haven for those searching for solitude, connection to nature, and the warmth of hospitality that is so special to Leslie. I stumbled on Haven on the Hilltop's image online and knew I wanted to spend some days disconnecting from the pandemic, work, and parenting and reconnecting to myself. Leslie was so kind and prompt in her communications from my first inquiry and throughout my stay. She showed me around, offered kale from the garden, and when it snowed unexpectedly, she even offered me her own boots. It's so easy to sense the purpose and deep connection Leslie has for the land and all that inhabits it, and it shows in all the details inside the cabins, the quaint farmhouse, and the walking trails. I dream of going back again and again, and will always hold fond memories of the warmth I felt on those crisp Canadian Autumnal days. Aya J. Nov 2020

“Beautiful, super clean and roomy farmhouse. The grounds are enormous, everything is as described. Check in and communications are professional and prompt, and the host genuinely wants people to enjoy the experience.”

Individual Retreat: Great peace and joy at Fells Meadows - I have been to Fells Meadows a number of times with group retreats and have truly enjoyed the beauty of the land, the serenity, the integrity of the owner and staff to ensure that Mother Earth and all her children were properly cared for. The food has always been delicious, organic and very healthy. I have stayed in the Farm House which has a number of bedrooms as well as the cabin called Haven on the Hill-top. It is truly on the top of the hill which enables one to see the sunset and the sunrise and exquisite viewing of the stars. The small cabin is right beside an amazing labrynth which I have walked many times. Recently I decided to have a silent retreat alone for 4 days and 3 nights to meditate and contemplate the beauty and blessings that are all around us. I chose to stay at Fells Meadows in the Haven on the Hill. It was precious time to just relax and listen to the sounds and experience the beauty. There is also another cabin available near the meadow and a large yurt which can be used for various group sessions such as yoga. I am in awe whenever I spend time on the land at Fells Meadows and always come home inspired and deeply blessed. I highly recommend it.  Susan B. Sept 2020

Gorgeous place, accommodating and friendly hostess. It was a great weekend. Katie B. September 2020

Leslie was very welcoming and hospitable. The cabin is cozy and charming. The property is beautiful and the main trails are well kept. The food that was prepared from Leslie's menu was also delicious. Overall, a great place to relax and get away from the city hustle and bustle. Nikola I. September 2020

It is very clean and charming, especially the garden and trails on the property. My wife even spotted humming birds - what a treat. Leslie is very accommodating and welcoming. Next time we may plan for bigger group gathering here. Derek H August 2020

We booked Fells Meadows so that our family could spend some precious time together, especially since we hadn't been able to see each other as much due to the pandemic. Leslie's farmhouse was a gem of a place for us to rest, relax, and reconnect. The house is spacious, surprisingly cool in the summer, and has plenty of places to cozy up and read, nap, or just enjoy the peace of being out in nature. The beds were comfy and one of our favourite things was the amazing sleep we all had! It must have been how quiet and dark it gets out in the country, but we definitely had some of our best sleeps and naps here! We enjoyed the trails on the property, though it does get quite buggy in July, so I would recommend bringing bug spray. The yurt was a fun place for us to explore and play some games in. We also appreciated the big flat screen TV for our evening Nintendo Switch competitions :). Kitchen was well stocked with all the basic equipment and some spices. Everything was clean and well-maintained. Most of all, we appreciated Leslie's hospitality and helpfulness during our stay. My mom had trouble with the bathtub as it was a bit slippery for her; Leslie wasted no time in getting us bathmats to put in the tub! Needless to say, she was an attentive and gracious host. We had a wonderful time here and hope to be back again 🙂  Elizabeth K. August 2020

We had a beautiful stay at Fells Meadows! From exploring the trails using a map that Leslie provided to yoga and meditation in the yurt, it was a magical experience! Would highly recommend Leslie’s place if you’re looking for somewhere to escape and get in touch with nature!  Jordan S. July 2020

Leslie was a wonderful host and the property is super charming with trails, gardens, etc. The house has everything you need and only 20 minutes away from beaches. Highly recommend.  Herrick M. July 2020

Individual Mentored Retreat

I have been to Fells Meadows on three separate occasions. Twice for a Reiki Group retreat in the Farmhouse and one Self-Directed Retreat in the cabin called "Haven on the Hill". The entire property is exceptionally kept. I feel Leslie and the land of Fells Meadow uplifted my spirit to a place where I could truly connect to my Self/Source. I felt safe and absolutely welcomed. So much thought, time and energy are put into creating an experience for others to honour and explore the journey of their soul. With the support of the land and Leslie, as a facilitator, I was able to experience full circle events that brought upon clarity and purpose. Candace C. July 2020

Myself, my husbanding our two golden retrievers had an absolutely phenomenal time at Fells Meadows. The rustic, charming farmhouse was warm and welcoming. Beautiful place to stay. Very clean. The grounds are well maintained and absolutely gorgeous. We got massages by the lovely Carley - she was kind and professional. We ate produce from the gardens grown right beside the farmhouse - was so good!

If you're looking for a relaxing, quiet oasis to get away from the hustle and bustle of the world...this is it! Will definitely be back!

Thank you Leslie and staff for a wonderful experience.  Jessica H. July 2020

A beautiful, restorative and incredibly joyful space! The land is spacious and calming and green and expansive. The house is stunning and can accommodate large groups and still feel like a "private idaho". I cannot recommend this place enough! I have been many many times and will continue to visit when I need quiet, beauty and grace. Suzanne G. January 2020

For the past several years, I have led small group yoga weekend retreats at Fells Meadows. The combination of the farmhouse, yurt, cabins and extensive trails offers space for solitude or sharing. The circular space in the yurt, focuses energy and invites a meditative approach to yoga practice. I look forward to a return visit. Patricia W. June, 2019

We had an incredible time at the property. The house is very clean, comfortable and roomy, with a well equipped kitchen, fireplaces, and perfect areas for spending time both inside and out. We had a huge outdoor meal on picnic tables, with the view of the green acres in the background. We took several walks around the property, including to the yurt, labyrinth, and little cabins. We also had a lovely bonfire under the stars. You really can't go wrong here, for groups big or small! The hosts were generous, kind and welcoming. Dasha P. May, 2019

Chilling in the country

SO lovely, so peaceful-wonderful hosts! We'll be back every year :-).

I was looking for that perfect, special place to host a leadership development retreat, and as soon as I had that first phone call with Leslie, I knew Fell's Meadows was the space for us.  The farmhouse is cozy and comfortably furnished, and we loved gathering around the wood fireplace in the evening to talk and deepen our learning.  During the days, we spent time on the property-- and since it was October, the leaves had changed and we were surrounded by reds, oranges, and yellows.  The yurt was perfect for our sessions, and we all loved being able to use the yoga mats, pillows, and blankets instead of the typical boardroom-type setting. Stacey K. April, 2019

As a host, Leslie and Greg were responsive and very accommodating of our timeline. Leslie even ran a workshop for us, and it deepened our retreat and connected the group to the space even further.  It's often the little things that make a place feel special, and I loved the fresh cut flowers on the bedside table, that my bed was so comfortable, the eco-friendly soaps in the bathrooms, how each carving and painting has a story, and that the whole 100-acre property felt like home.

Dream Circle: For our leadership development retreat, we were looking for something extra to bring into our learning space, so when Leslie mentioned that she runs a workshop called a Dream Council, I knew it was exactly what we were looking for.  Dream Council deepened our connection to ourselves, through our dreams, and then connected us more deeply to the entire group as we explored themes and feelings the dreams evoked.  Leslie is a masterful facilitator, and she managed the space with grace and power as needed.  Her wisdom and insights up-levelled the experience and made it one of our favourite activities of the whole retreat. Sophia A. October 2018

Heavenly. We had the most wonderful weekend at Fell’s Meadows. The house and grounds were perfect. We had a peaceful weekend with good friends and therapeutic laughter!! Thank you Leslie and Greg, you were wonderful hosts and catered to every need. This place was the best stocked vacation rental I have ever been to. I would highly recommend it especially if you need a place for peace and mental rejuvenation. Heather B, Sept. 2018

We had a perfect stay at Leslie's farmhouse. The property is beautiful, kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need. We enjoyed walking the trails behind the house. Love it, highly recommend!  Yin M. September 2018

I wanted to thank you once again for the great hospitality at your retreat centre, Fell Meadows.  It is an enchanting beautiful setting! You attended to all the details and the special care to myself and all the needs and requests that came up for our group members.  You truly are a wonderful host, always greeting us with a smile and you made us feel so appreciated and welcome. The food was delicious and fresh and we enjoyed the farmhouse.  Your land and property is well cared for and the yurt is a wonderful space for group work.  I really felt like we were away from it all and with the great service you offer, we were able to focus on our work. The work we did was powerful and a lot had to do with the space, spirit, and beauty of the place. Thank you once again.  Daniel L. July 2018

Fabulous and Relaxing Retreat! We enjoyed a wonderful women's getaway at Leslie's Exquisite Sanctuary. The house was spotlessly clean, beautifully furnished, and well equipped with everything we could possibly need during our stay. We were there during the Canada Day weekend heat-wave, and although the house does not have central air conditioning it felt lovely and cool. The grounds were beautiful, and we did manage a few short treks to wander along the trails and see the bunkie, maze and yurt...we would have done more hiking if the weather had not been so hot and humid. Truly a piece of paradise and we look forward to spending another women's weekend at Leslie's farmhouse in the future. Sheryl E. July 2018

Awesome place - it had everything you would need and great hosts.
Mike B. February 2018

Spending time on retreat at the beautiful farmhouse and land was a truly restorative experience.  Everything I needed to be comfortable was provided, allowing me to engage fully in the experiences which called my soul.  I cannot recommend this place more highly for reflective time away from the demands of modern life, and as a container for deeper contemplation. M.V. January 2018

The hostess, Leslie, warmly greeted us and provided a thorough overview of the property and amenities. House was well stocked. Loved the masonry in the kitchen. The trails were well groomed and provided some great exercise, fresh air and scenery. Spent the day in Warkworth - what a gem! lots of lovely shops and welcoming people. Joe-Anne P. November 2017

This is a wonderful location and words can’t describe the beauty the retreat space/s provide. Our group received nothing but the warmest hospitality and many commented on how they would love to return. Everything about this location and experience was perfect. Thank you again! Shaunacy August 2017

This is a great property that offers the perfect setting for a long weekend outside of the city. My friends and I found that we had everything we needed to be comfortable, including kitchen items and a BBQ. The location meant that we could drive into Picton for the day, and to Sandbanks, and check out the drive-in at night. Leslie was a great host who was easily accessible both before and during our stay. I would recommend this property for family getaways, larger groups, or workshop retreats. Anonymous June 2017

This property is incredible. It's spacious and well-kept. The path leading up the hill to the cabin is perfect for a sunset-walk. The farmhouse is endearing, well kept, rustic, and beautiful. I can't wait to return. Suzannah M. June 2017

The property was a perfect fit for our group! The land and the facilities are magic! Leslie was wonderful to work with, fully responsive and a great communicator. The grounds and the buildings are well tended and we had everything we needed for our weekend. We were held well while we gathered. Would highly recommend a stay. The labyrinth and yurt were well used. Magic. Gratitude! Kim M. May 2017

Leslie and Greg were amazing hosts! They were so willing to help myself and 9 friends make the most out of their beautiful property. They provided a lot of information regarding the hiking trails of the land, the surrounding area and were very friendly and interesting people themselves. One long weekend is not enough to fully enjoy all that this farmhouse has to offer. Leslie and Greg were excellent with communication (check out/in, maintaining property, etc) and that clarity allowed for a stress free and fun weekend getaway. The farmhouse was very easy to find, as the hosts provide detailed instructions on how to find it from every direction, and is part of a wide neighbourhood. The property is truly massive and the pictures provided do not do it justice. If any guest wishes to have a private retreat, they would find it here. There are many places around the surrounding area to provide entertainment (The Big Apple, farmer's markets, antique stores, Presqu'ile Provincial Park, etc.) and the farmhouse is equipped with many amenities (which makes travelling with a group much easier). The home was clean and spacious, it did not feel crowded with our large group. Greg walked me through the entire house on arrival and made all of us feel welcome and at home immediately. Our long weekend trip was such a success because of our wonderful hosts and incredible landscape. Victoria May 2017

I loved it! The land is so varied and beautiful. The hilltops, the mysterious watery passes, the birch groves, the meadow - I couldn't get enough of walking! I felt like I connected to what March means in the natural world, here in this part of Canada. The sky and the land were meeting through water, and everything was changing and mulching down before my eyes to create a fertile ground for life to grow. It was deeply relaxing and reminded me of where I actually am, on this land that changes day by day. I loved how accessible the walking was - you had only to go out of the door and could choose a long route, a short route, a hilly route and an easy route - whatever I felt like. The landscape felt very nourishing for my soul, which was what I needed. The spirits of the land came across as being very well cared for and joyful. RD March 2017

Leslie’s retreat space gave me a sense of being held in a safe cocoon of solitude. The land, the food, the house, all were deeply nourishing to my soul and body. She has created a truly sacred place. SW Feb 2017

Ten of us spent a wonderful Christmas at this beautiful farmhouse and property. There is a main floor bedroom (and bathroom) which fit the bill for my 88 year old mother. The remaining 9 of us (3 couples, 2 teenagers and 1 young adult) were dispersed in the upstairs bedrooms which accommodated us very well. We were all very impressed by the masonry heating system - both in watching Greg get the fire going each morning and in how toasty the farmhouse became and stayed over the course of the day/night, in particular the upstairs. For a Christmas "away from home" the icing on the cake was that Leslie ensured that the house had a festive feel from pretty decorations throughout the house to a lovely decorated tree in the living/dining room - perfect for gifts. This transformed the farmhouse into a home away from home. Many thanks. Catherine F. December 2016

A wonderful place to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of the city while having the comforts of home. ….As much as I would love to keep this my little secret place, I know many others who could benefit from a spiritual retreat. Host Leslie is warm and easily reachable if needed. Isabelle K. October 2016

We rented the property to celebrate my son's birthday. The house was very comfortable and roomy. We loved using the wood stove heater and walking in the woods. Leslie was very attentive and helpful. Just a short drive from Toronto. This property was amazing. Anita H. September 2016

My partner and I spent few nights at this place. We found it very clean and neat. . The farmhouse is very nice and has a unique character. The cabin and the yurt were definitely a bonus. We enjoyed taking hikes on the trails. The house has everything you need. The garden was beautiful and we saw so many nice birds and butterflies. Another bonus is its close proximity to Toronto and specially 401. There are also many places within 30 min drive to see including Rice lake, Bewdley and Ferris park just to name a few. This is a quiet retreat from the bustling city. At night you can see so many stars. The owner was so nice and kind and made us feel at home. We definitely recommend this place and we will visit here again for sure. Ali S. August 2016

I stayed at Leslie Fell's property for a personal reflection and writing retreat. The setting was ideal for finding inner spaciousness and artistic inspiration. The surrounding land stretches far toward the horizon, and beckons for meditative and regenerative encounters. The land almost reverberates with the sense of its own becoming, or sighs with the knowledge that the cycle of planetary healing can begin. For anyone who feels aligned with these objectives, a retreat at Leslie's land will re-connect you. While you are there, Leslie's conscientiousness and care will ensure that you can focus wholly on what you came to do. JH February 2016
